Hank Cramer is one of the best-loved folksingers in the American West. He is widely known for his booming bass voice, smooth picking on a vintage flat-top guitar, and his wry sense of humor. He’s more than simply a performer, however. He is a historian and educator who weaves music and history into presentations which bring to life the rich story of America’s westward movement, and give his audiences insight into the “folk process” by which traditional songs evolve and change to describe new events.
Carter Junction is the husband and wife duo of Clinton and Sarah Carter. The acoustic duo performs original and traditional songs in the Cowboy, Folk, and Celtic genres with Clinton Carter on vocals and guitar and Sarah on vocals, Celtic Harp, and Irish drum. Both are gifted vocalists, individually and in harmony, with Clinton singing bass and Sarah soprano.
Together this musical trio will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the filming of the movie Paint Your Wagon in Northeast Oregon’s Wallowa and Elkhorn Mountains outside of Baker City, with five performances over three days. Three trio will perform a variety of songs from the Paint Your Wagon soundtrack with Hank Cramer singing the part of Ben Rumson, Clinton Carter singing the role of Pardner, and Sarah Carter performing as Elizabeth.
The Paint Your Wagon Musical Tour will include 5 performances over three days that showcase a number of the areas where the movie was filmed in the Wallowa and Elkhorn Mountains , the 50th anniversary exhibit of the movies filming , at the Baker Heritage Museum, and a stop at the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center in Baker City. .

Friday August 10
2 p.m. Performance on the Main Street Stage in downtown Halfway . The Paint Your Wagon Musical Tour kicks off with an opening performance in downtown Halfway as part of the Main Street Stage outdoor concert series. Free admission
6:30 p.m. Dinner and concert at the Cornucopia Lodge. Enjoy an evening of music from Paint Your Wagon performed by Hank Cramer and Carter Junction while savoring an amazing dinner and breathtaking views of the Wallowa Mountains and Eagle Cap wilderness at the Lodge. Make your reservations early for this musical weekend getaway in the Wallowas. $35 includes Dinner.
Saturday August 11
2 p.m. At the Baker Heritage Museum in Baker City. Enjoy an afternoon exploring the Museum’s featured exhibit celebrating the 50th anniversary of the filming of Paint Your wagon including a model of No Name city and an abundant collection of artifacts from Paramount studios including photos, artwork, storyboards, costumes, and other memorabilia from the movie while listening to Hank Cramer and Carter Junction bring the soundtrack to life. Concert is included with the $6 museum admission.
7 p.m. An evening concert in the outdoor amphitheater at the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center on Flagstaff Hill in Baker City with sweeping views of the Baker Valley and the Elkhorn Mountains where portions of the movie were filmed. Free admission

3 p.m. Enjoy the final performance of the Paint Your Wagon Musical Tour high in the Elkhorn mountains at Anthony Lakes Mountain Resort with last performance of the tour at the Starbottle Saloon while enjoying fresh wood fired pizza, amazing burgers and spectacular views, all part of Summer at the Starbottle.
