Sumpter Valley Railroad Halloween Express Haunted Train Rides
October 28, 2018 –
Celebrate Halloween Saturday and Sunday on the Sumpter Valley Railroad 's Halloween Express. On both days a round trip train will depart from the McEwen Depot at 12:00 PM. Passengers will be greeted with lots of decorations and a haunted train with treat bags for everyone. After arriving in Sumpter be sure to check out the Haunted Gold Dredge at the Sumpter Dredge State Park and listen to ghost stories of the past. Rumor has it that the ghost of Joe Bush, the dredge worker from years past, will likely be making an appearance, so come join the fun.

Downtown Baker City Third Thursday Wine Walk

"Raise a glass & raise some funds!" during this monthly community celebration in Downtown Baker City.
A $10 donation gets you a Baker City Downtown logo wine glass and a map of where to get your sip & shop on! Each month BCD will donate a portion of the proceeds to a different local charity. All participating businesses will be open from 5pm-8pm and serving samples of different wines.

Baker City Turkey Trot 5K Fun Run

Annual Run/Walk to Feed the Hungry 5k Turkey Trot. Come out Thanksgiving morning to help feed the hungry in Baker County before sitting down to your own Thanksgiving dinners.
More than 500 participants run this annual holiday 5k fun run in Baker City each Thanksgiving morning making it one of the largest Thanksgiving Day fun runs in Oregon. Proceeds from the run benefit the North East Oregon Compassion Center and help support the local food bank.
Turkeys start trotting at 9 a.m. in front of Kicks Sportswear, Corner of Main and Valley

Family Fun Day at the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center

Looking for an family friendly alternative to shopping this Friday? Join us for Family Fun Day, on the Friday after Thanksgiving from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Crafts will include making bird feeders, ornaments, paper quilt blocks and family tree paintings.
Family Fun Day will also feature a chance for visitors to participate in the Great Thanksgiving Listen, a StoryCorps initiative to engage people of all ages in the act of listening. A limited number of spaces will be offered for visitors to record a facilitated interview with a member of their family.
